Hi and welcome to a new and exciting school year in Mrs. Lichti's class! This is my 21st year of teaching with Omaha Public Schools and my eighth year here at Washington. I am eager to embark on a learning adventure with a new group of first grade students. I look forward to working with both my students and their parents to make this the best year ever!
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1998. I earned my Master's Degree from UNO in 2002. I taught second grade for thirteen years and moved to first grade seven years ago. Making a change to first grade has been a welcome experience that I truly enjoy!
Besides teaching, my life consists of spending time with my family. I have been married to my husband, Brandon, for 17 years and have three children. A daughter, Maddie, who is in tenth grade, a seventh grade son, Carter, and a son, Evan, who is in third grade. We also have a two year old puppy named Wrigley. We enjoy baseball (Royals), football (Huskers) and traveling in our spare time. They definitely keep me busy and make life interesting and entertaining.
My goal as a teacher is to help my students learn everything they need to know in first grade as well as prepare them for second grade. In addition to this, I hope they become responsible, independent and problem solving students. Parent support and communication is so important in a child's education. If ever there are any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or email.
