Hi and welcome to a new and exciting school year in Mrs. Lichti's class! This is my 23rd year of teaching with Omaha Public Schools and my tenth year here at Washington. I am eager to embark on a learning adventure with a new group of first grade students. I look forward to working with both my students and their parents to make this the best year ever!
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1998. I earned my Master's Degree from UNO in 2002. I taught second grade for thirteen years and moved to first grade nine years ago. Making a change to first grade has been a welcome experience that I truly enjoy!
Besides teaching, my life consists of spending time with my family. I have been married to my husband, Brandon, for 19 years and have three children. A daughter, Maddie, who is a senior in high school, a freshman son, Carter, and a son, Evan, who is in fifth grade. We also have a four year old dog named Wrigley. We enjoy baseball (Royals), football (Huskers) and traveling in our spare time. My family definitely keeps me busy and makes life interesting and entertaining.
My goal as a teacher is to help my students learn everything they need to know in first grade as well as prepare them for second grade. In addition to this, I hope they become responsible, independent and problem solving students. Parent support and communication is so important in a child's education. If ever there are any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or email.
