I believe good communication between home and school plays a vital role in a student's school year. One way parents can help is by looking for a daily planner to come home each day. Students will be using their daily planner to list any homework that needs to be completed, reminders for school events, and any special information that parents may need to know. This is also a place for parents/teachers to write notes to each other. It is very important to check your child's planner each evening and sign your initials to let me know that you have seen it.
Hello! My name is Lisa Price. I am fortunate to be a part of the wonderful staff here at Washington Elementary School. I have been teaching in Omaha Public Schools for over twenty years. This will be my third year at Washington Elementary.
I am a Nebraska girl at heart. My roots began in a small town where I grew up with three sisters, one brother and wonderful parents in Columbus, Nebraska. After high school, I moved to Kearney, Nebraska where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. After graduation, I wanted to see what life was like in the big city and moved to Omaha. I began my career with Omaha Public Schools and fell in love with the greatest job on Earth, teaching. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher; but I had no idea how much satisfaction would come from watching students learn, grow and achieve to their highest potential. It wasn’t long before I met my husband and love of my life, Gary. We have two marvelous children. Our son is in grade school and our daughter is in high school. They keep us busy and young.
In 1997, I received my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I believe learning is a life-long process. I want to pass my love of learning and appreciation for education on to my students.
