Mrs. Taylor Gatrost
Hello! My name is Mrs. Gatrost. I have been teaching sixth grade at Washington Elementary since August 2018. Before teaching at Washington, I taught fourth grade for two years and worked in corporate relocation for two years. Growing up, I lived in the Benson and downtown areas of Omaha.
I became a teacher because I believe very strongly in the power of education. Education has been very important to my family and to me. I was the first person in my family to graduate from college, and it was my wonderful teachers that gave me opportunities to learn and explore new things. As a teacher, I am determined to continue growing myself and to help my students grow to be the best versions of themselves!
In my free time, I love being with my family (including my two dogs, Peanut and Emmy!). I also enjoy reading, doing word and logic puzzles, playing D&D, road trips, and taking walks. I absolutely love Star Trek. Live long and prosper!
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
I attended OPS as a student at Boyd Elementary, Bancroft Elementary, Norris Middle School, and Central High School
